A non-invasive imaging technique, magnetoencephalography (MEG) is used to measure the magnetic fields produced by electrical activity in the brain. The machine can help clinicians localize seizure activity or identify healthy parts of the brain that control critical skills such as language, movement and memory. MEG, when combined with other imaging techniques, can be used to plan neurosurgical intervention for patients with:
- Epilepsy
- Brain tumors
- Vascular malformations
The Scripps MEG Lab is located on the campus of Scripps Green Hospital. The machine is used in clinical applications as well as research activities. Click here to learn more about MEG or get directions to the lab. Call 858-554-8411 to schedule a procedure.
